Can I order a larger or custom-sized map?
Yes. The largest map made in one piece is 300 mm. Larger maps can be made to order as several printed sections. Choose Custom dimensions and enter your preferred width and height. We will prepare a personal quotation; no price is calculated automatically. The standard framed edition uses A4 paper. For a larger framed design, the maximum paper size is A3 (297 × 420 mm), available by personal quotation.
What is the largest paper size for a framed map?
The maximum paper size is A3 (297 × 420 mm). A4 (210 × 297 mm) is the standard framed option in the studio. For an A3 design, contact info@soaringmap.com and we will prepare a personal quotation.
What do I need for my model?
You need an .IGC file, exported from your flight recorder, WeGlide, SkyLines or SeeYou Cloud. An optional WeGlide link imports scoring data — distance, duration and speed. The IGC is the source of the flight geometry.
Do the flight and terrain share a scale?
Yes. Vertical exaggeration applies equally to terrain and flight. At 1×, horizontal and vertical scales match. We do not automatically lift the flight; altitude datum and intersections are checked before production.
What can I customize?
The shape, size, display, map composition, PLA filament colours, inscription and one- or two-colour flight. Wall and tabletop models can have a plaque or no plaque. Framed text is printed on the A4 backing. You can also add an NFC sticker linking to your flight.
How do ordering and payment work?
For standard sizes, review your design, enter your delivery address and pay the full total securely with Stripe. Shipping is shown before payment. Your order is confirmed after payment and the production file is checked. Custom dimensions remain quote-on-request; they are not charged automatically.
Can I give a model as a gift?
Of course. You’ll need the IGC file of the chosen flight, and you can turn the inscription into a dedication. Enter the recipient’s delivery address and your own email for confirmation. Contact us before ordering if you need delivery for a particular date.
What do the photographs and animations show?
Our product images are AI-assisted edits based on photographs of our printed models. Room settings and the tabletop stand are visualizations; small details and colours may differ from the physical piece. The short lifestyle film uses an AI-generated person and setting to show a map being hung, followed by a closer product view based on our printed model. The flight details shown are illustrative personalization examples. The opening flight image is illustrative, and the growth animation shows model geometry. We confirm your design before production.
